🎮 The Simpsons Fortnite season is really good. Got a VR early this morning before the sweats woke up. The map is amazing and it's a really immersive experience. Only thing is it's very bright and colourful – way beyond the usual Fortnite standard. Maybe too much.

Blown away that I can convert a 16-bit, 40 megapixel JPEG-XL photo to a 16-bit TIFF in Shortcuts on my iPad.
Neither Procreate or Affinity Photo support these files (without hiccups) and Photo is the app I need do the work anyway. It has no problem with huge TIFFs. ➰

😊 I'm sitting in the park under the trees. The air smells of autumn: decaying leaves and a wood burning stove nearby. Golden hour is a few minutes away and the light is a silvery hazy gold. A robin is hanging around me hoping to be fed. What a treat! Fkn gorgeous.

🌅 It's so nice to sit here in the mornings with my coffee and watch the sky. The sun is moving South and now rising behind a huge evergreen tree. ➿ For the next couple months there will be ~zero direct sunlight coming through this window. Time to embrace the Winter darkness. Love it!

I was rejected by a mental health care professional today. Lack of funding and specialised resources. Not a big surprise but still very hard to take.
It’s a theme. And it’s fucking depressing. Had a big cry already and feeling very alone, like I fell off a cliff.

@jayeless Thank you. I didn’t realise how invested I was in this till it was pulled. I’m a person who needs ongoing support and help. But because I’m not a severe case anymore I don’t get the help. And the basic help is unsuitable, so it’s best I don’t accept it. It’s a recurring theme for me. Thanks 💜

Holy shit. Just watched Michael Rosenbaum interview Allison Mack. Super intense, heavy going and emotional. It felt really important to hear her story despite all the bad shit she did.
I was cult-adjacent for a while and I really believe we are under-educated about these groups and how to stay safe.

Since I still feel new to Mastodon, I’ve just gone through the back end of my account looking at everything.
There’s a lot to tweak. Some stuff I had no clue was there.
Anyway. I bumped a couple of folks who were following me. And put my account on Request to Follow for now. It feels a bit better.
I am friendly and chill. Will 99.99% accept any follow requests but I just prefer to have it like this now.

That’s another 1.5 hour appointment done with the dentist in my mouth. 4 X-rays, lots of drilling, and.. assorted dentistry. She’s trying to save a back molar with a root canal, amongst other works on other teeth.
It’s been a real saga. I think this was appointment 3 working on that one tooth . I honestly can’t remember very well. The whole thing has turned into a blur of intense pain, medication and anxiety.
So I’m back there in a few weeks. When she thinks she might be able me to finish. And then all being well a crown in a few months.
I’m actually happy to be getting the help I need from an empathetic dentist. I mean. It’s been mind blowing to experience that level of patience and kindness.

@lee I think it’s also the embedded colour profiles and HDR, not just platform. It’s really frustrating and I don’t really understand it very well. But it can seem to depend on device, browser, app, and website if an image looks as intended or not. I’ve tried to export files that look great on iPhones but I find sometimes they look dull and a bit muted anyway in certain circumstances. 🤷♀️

@pratik Bear Blog. I can choose to upload high res but they have put a bit of friction against doing that. I decided to respect it because it’s not really a photo sharing platform. And it’s just easier to let them handle optimising images anyway.
